Conn-Selmer

The challenge

Conn-Selmer, a US manufacturer of brass, woodwinds and other musical instruments, acquired Le Blanc – a French clarinet brand sold across Europe. Conn-Selmer Americanised the brand and it ultimately lost its European feel, disappearing from the continent altogether. Conn-Selmer needed a repositioning of Le Blanc that restored its heritage.

The creative

We crafted a new look and tone for Le Blanc that made it feel Parisian again, with the aim to create a presence firstly in the UK market and then across Europe. We created a landing page that sits on the Conn-Selmer site, and a social campaign to raise awareness with players of Le Blanc’s full range – from students and parents for their beginners’ range, through to professional musicians and dealers. Our work positions their series of clarinets, which will be followed by releases of flutes and saxophones in the same style.
